Storage welding electrode requirements for temperature and humidity

A thermometer and a hygrometer should be installed in the warehouse where the electrodes are stored. The temperature of the room where the alkaline electrode is stored should not be lower than 5°C, and the relative air humidity should be lower than 60%.

The shell of the welding electrode is electrode coating, which cannot be impact resistant like a steel core, so it cannot be dropped during the loading and unloading process. The welding electrode installed in the carton cannot be hooked. Certain types of welding electrodes, such as alkaline electrode coatings with special drying requirements, should be handled more carefully than ordinary electrodes. Normally, welding electrodes are packed in sealed bags and cartons. To prevent moisture absorption, the welding electrode cannot be disassembled at will before use. Try to do this as soon as possible. If possible, seal the remaining welding electrodes after welding.

Precautions for storage and storage of welding rod:

1. Welding electrodes must be stored in a dry, well-ventilated indoor warehouse. No harmful gas and corrosive media are allowed to be placed in the electrode storage, and the room should be kept clean and tidy.

2. The electrode should be stored on the indoor shelf. The distance between the shelf and the ground should not be less than 300mm, and the distance from the wall should not be less than 300mm. And put a desiccant to prevent the electrode from getting wet.

3. When stacking welding rods, they should be stacked according to type, brand, batch, specification, and storage time. Each box should be clearly marked to avoid confusion.

4. After the electrode is supplied to the user unit, it can be guaranteed to continue to be used for at least six months. Welding rods should be issued before storage.

5. The storage and custody system of special electrodes should be managed more strictly than ordinary electrodes, and they should be stacked in special warehouses or designated areas. Welding electrodes damaged by moisture or packaging are not allowed to be stored without treatment.

6. Welding electrodes that have been exposed to dampness, discoloration of the coating, and rust on the welding core must be dried and then evaluated for quality. Only after the performance indicators meet the requirements can they be stored.

7. The amount of welding rods that can be withdrawn from a warehouse generally cannot exceed the consumption for two days. Welders must keep the welding rods that have been withdrawn from the warehouse.

8. Welding electrodes stored for more than one year should be re-performed in various performance tests before being issued, and can only be issued when they meet the requirements, otherwise they should not be out of the warehouse.
